HEBIC and Cardiff Metropolitan University Signed the Sino-British Inter-school Cooperation Memorandum.

         On June 16, 2014, on the invitation of British Embassy Beijing and China Office of Cardiff Metropolitan University (Cardiff Met), President LI Jinyun attended the Opening Ceremony of China Office of Cardiff Metropolitan University (Cardiff Met), which was held in British Embassy Beijing.
         The opening ceremony was presided over by Mr. LI Bin, Chief Representative of Cardiff Met in China. Honorary Chairman TAO Xiping of The Chinese Association for Non-Government Education, doubling as State Superintendent, first delivered a speech. He said that, UK’s education philosophy, system, contents and modes were worthy of learning and reference. China and UK had profound friendship and extensive education exchange. The establishment of China Office of Cardiff Met built a Sino-UK education window and cooperation platform and would generate significant effects on promoting the sound and sustaining development of Sino-UK education undertakings.
         UK Minister Counselor Andrew Key addressed a welcome speech and he pointed out that UK highly respected China and attached great importance to the development of education exchange and cooperation between students of both sides. The establishment of China Office by Cardiff Met enabled Sino-UK development and cooperation deeper increasingly. Currently, there are approximately 120,000 Chinese students in UK and UK plans to send 80,000 British students to China for education before 2020. Minister Counselor Andrew Key wished both sides gain rich achievements in education exchange and cooperation.
         Prof. Antony J Chapman, Chancellor of Cardiff Met, delivered the closing speech and he emphasized that internationalization was the cornerstone of Cardiff Met and Cardiff Met aimed at cultivating students into internationalized talents suitable for global market. He extended heartfelt gratitude to all schools cooperating with China for their achievements and efforts and expected that Cardiff Met would establish long-term exchange and cooperation with more Chinese colleges and universities. Before the Opening Ceremony, President LI Jinyun and Prof. Mohamed Loutfi, Pro Vice-Chancellor of Cardiff Met, signed the Sino-British Inter-school Cooperation Memorandum at British Embassy Beijing. The main contents of that Memorandum were: 2+2/3+1 undergraduate double-degree program, 4+1 graduate program and 3+1 simultaneous undergraduate and graduate study program. The conclusion of Sino-British Inter-school Cooperation Memorandum would greatly boost HEBIC to develop internationalized education and promote the reputation and have important significance for future development of HEBIC.  
          Leaders and relevant staffs from totally 59 colleges and universities attended the Opening Ceremony and 14 colleges and universities concluded Sino-British Inter-school Cooperation Memorandums with Cardiff Met.
