On August 18, 2014, five students majoring in Portuguese from School of International Communication of HEBIC went to University of Sao Paulo (USP) by air and arrived in Sao Paulo International Airport smoothly at 4:30 p.m., August 19 (local time), which symbolized the smooth implementation of third-batch HEBIC exchange students to Brazil.
Due to 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil, USP was late to send the documents requested by the Embassy and five students didn’t receive the notice of visa approval until July 31 after repeated contact and consultation, even though they had submitted the visa application to the Embassy of Brazil to China in the mid of June.
HEBIC and USP concluded the cooperation agreement and established the sister school relationship on Oct. 18, 2011. HEBIC sent 22, 13 and 5 students majoring in Portuguese to USP for one-year study in August of 2012, July of 2013 and August of 2014 respectively. The first batch of 22 students has graduated this year; among them, eleven were recruited by China Dreal Group and went to Angola for work, three were admitted by China Great Wall Computer Group and sent to Brazil for work, and the rest eight were enrolled as formal employees by well-known enterprises like Sohu. The second batch of 13 exchange students has also returned to HEBIC to continue their study.
