On April 18, the delegation led by president LI Jinyun went to Fatima Jinnah Women University as soon as they arrived in Islamabad, capital of Pakistan.
Founded in 1998, Fatima Jinnah Women University was named after Fatima Jinnah, sister of the founder of Pakistan (Muhammad Ali Jinnah). The university was the first university in Pakistan to enroll female students only. As it commits to improving women’s education, the university focuses on two distinctive dimensions. One is to provide opportunities for women who are willing to take up advanced studies, and the other is to cultivate female talents for Pakistan.
The university is in the premises of the Old Presidency (situated at the Mall, at the center of Rawalpindi Cantonment). With elegant environment and luxuriant vegetation, the place generates a sensation of solemnity and showcases its long history.
Ms. Najma Najum, president of Fatima Jinnah Women University, accompanied the delegation during their visit. She also showed them around the university. The hospitality and confidence of Pakistani girls impressed the delegation.
Afterwards, Ms. Najma Najum and president LI carried out an in-depth communication. As both of them have served as president for years, they shared similar feelings to each other. Compared with male presidents, women presidents need to overcome even more difficulties and endure more stress, Ms. Najma Najum said. President LI pointed out that women presidents have distinct advantages, as evidenced by their tender and wise communication style, flexible and unique leadership style. Moreover, with their emotional characteristics, women presidents are capable of implementing people-oriented management philosophy and coordinating the complex interpersonal relation in university.
The presidents introduced schools, departments and other academic conditions of their universities to each other. Both parties agreed to take this opportunity to carry out further communication to lay the foundation for future cooperation. At last, the presidents signed the cooperation memorandum of Hebei Institute of Communications and Fatima Jinnah Women University.
