HEBIC Held Missouri Teaching Week

        From May 25 to May 31, 2015, HEBIC invited Reuben Stern, associate professor from School of Journalism of University of Missouri, and Dr. Ernest Yuyan Zhang, director of China Programs, to hold Missouri Teaching Week—“Data Journalism/Data Visualization” in HEBIC.  
        At present, Reuben Stern is the vice director of Future Laboratory of School of Journalism, who began his teaching career in School of Journalism of University of Missouri in 2002. He is anchor and producer of the video shot of laboratory. Besides, he is in charge of the programs of future laboratory. The lectures given by experts of University of Missouri are as follows:
        1. Introduction to big data and the age of big data
        2. Introduction to data visualization and its basic software
        3. In-depth study of data visualization
        4. Power and prospect of data journalism
        5. Interactive graphical illustration of Geography
        6. Data literacy

       The Missouri Teaching Week focuses on “data analysis and data journalism”, which are the scarcest and most important content of new-media, and has considerable influence on the promotion of HEBIC teachers and students and the media convergence reform of School of Journalism and Communication.
