Recently, SUN Sheng, a student of 2012 Spanish Class of International Communication School, went to Beijing to participate in “Spanish Day” activity organized jointly by Spain Embassy in China, Spanish Culture Center and Peking Instituto Cervantes. SUN Sheng held the posts of planner and assistant to organizer, and then returned to HEBIC after finishing the task.
Similar to China’s Confucius Institute, Instituto Cervantes is a non-profit public institute founded by Spanish Government in 1991. The institute aims to promote the study and application of Spanish, and spread Spanish culture worldwide. Since 2009, “Spanish Day” has been held for six times with tens of thousands of participants.
Ambassadors of Spanish Embassy in China, Spanish celebrities from Latin American countries and Chinese participants all come to celebrate the grand gathering of global Spanish population through Spanish games, pilgrimage of Latin American countries and other activities.
HEBIC sends students to participate in the activity, as it seeks to follow the trend of internationalization of higher education, push forward international strategies of cultivating talents, improve the quality of talent education and enhance international cooperation.
