       School of International Communication was established in July 2014 and grew out of Department of Foreign Languages and Department of Chinese Language. Currently, there are five undergraduate specialties, i.e. English, Portuguese, Spanish, International Chinese Language Education and Chinese Language and Literature. In 2014, School of International Communication was authorized by Academic Degree Committee of the State Council to grant master degree of translation and interpreting and began to enroll students of MTI in 2015. At present, there are 575 students and 83 teachers, of whom 10 are professors, 20 are associate professors and 4 are guest professors. Over 70% of teachers have master degree and doctorate. The school employs 5 to 6 foreign teachers whose native languages are English, Portuguese or Spanish. The school intends to cultivate application-oriented talents with solid Chinese and foreign language foundation and extensive specialized knowledge. Consequently, they will be capable of news editing of Chinese and foreign languages, translation, secretary, teaching, tour guide and management in enterprises and institutions and fields of communication, foreign affairs, education, economy and trade, and culture. School of International Communication has established cooperation relationships with University of Sao Paulo, University of San Ignacio de Loyola and Universidad EAFIT and exchange students mutually. The school commits to developing students’ employment ability and helping them to become postgraduate students or to study abroad. The dean of school is FENG Mei.
